Position

Luis González García focuses on international trade, investment law and international arbitration. He is a visiting professor of international trade and investment law in the EU at Queen Mary University of London.

Career

He worked for ten years at the Office of the General Counsel for International Trade Negotiations of the Government of Mexico. As Deputy General Counsel he appeared as counsel and lead counsel for Mexico in investment treaty arbitrations under the NAFTA. Luis also served as trade negotiator of free trade agreements (FTAs) and bilateral investment treaties . He has been an external consultant to several States and UNCTAD on dispute settlement and investment matters. He worked as an intern at the International Trade Law Branch of the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs in Vienna.
