Dawson Hart were the first solicitors in Sussex to open its doors on the first Saturday of every month to give pro bono legal advice, and also to introduce a loyalty scheme for clients, giving discounts and other benefits. These initiatives are being continually developed. The firm is Lexcel accredited and committed to providing an exceptional service every single time.

The strong family department is headed up by Mahie Abey, a former barrister. Abey is a Resolution-trained mediator, collaborative lawyer and arbitrator. Abey's team specialises in high-value financial disputes involving businesses, farms, pensions and complex children matters.

Managing director Jacqueline Hardaway's area of legal expertise over the past 20 years has been personal injury. She is passionate about helping people who have suffered catastrophic injuries and her recent work included successfully winning an award of damages for family members who suffered psychiatric injuries following the death of their son/brother, which was featured on BBC News and in the House of Commons. She is currently dealing with a serious injury case in the High Court, which has become a precedent for other claimant lawyers. The father of the claimant said in regard to Mrs Hardaway: 'I do not believe my daughter would have received the invaluable level of support and commitment from anyone else'.
