Position

Peter P. McNamara serves as coverage and defense counsel to America’s major insurance and reinsurance carriers in a variety of matters involving complex issues and significant exposures.

He represents and counsels clients in connection with environmental, asbestos, reinsurance, toxic tort, molestation, latent injury, products liability, first party property, and health and managed care disputes. He also serves as defense counsel in employment discrimination, defamation, and other tort suits. In addition, he represents title insurers in real estate title disputes, and represents health insurers in connection with issues including individual health plan benefits litigation, group health plans governed by ERISA, healthcare provider disputes, and fraud claims.

Over the course of more than 35 years, Peter has litigated complex insurance coverage, bad faith disputes, and  other matters and  in state and federal courts throughout the United States, and has litigated reinsurance disputes in arbitration proceedings.  He also regularly represents clients in mediation proceedings.

Career

Peter has served as a member of the Nassau County Bar Association’s Committee on Professional Ethics, and has served as Volunteer Legal Counsel to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Suffolk County, Inc.
