Position

Jon is global head of Maples and Calder’s Funds & Investment Management team at the Maples Group.  He specialises in hedge fund and private equity fund formation, representing a diverse industry client base. Jon has extensive knowledge of structuring and regulatory issues, and is a frequent speaker at industry events.

Career

Jon joined the Maples Group in 1998 and was elected as a partner in 2003.  He previously worked in the corporate team at Russell McVeagh McKenzie Bartleet & Co in New Zealand and, before that, in the mergers and acquisitions team at Linklaters in London.  Jon has been ranked by Who’s Who Legal as one of the top ten Most Highly Regarded Individual Offshore Lawyers in private funds.  He has also been recommended in Legal 500 and named as a leading lawyer by IFLR1000.  Jon has been ranked as an Eminent Practitioner by Chambers and Partners.
