Position

Maxine is of counsel in Maples and Calder’s Trusts & Private Client team in the Maples Group’s Cayman Islands office.  She specialises in advising the world’s leading banks and trust companies and private individuals on the establishment and ongoing administration of Cayman Islands trusts, including unit trusts, pension and employee benefit trusts and charitable trusts.  Maxine is a leader in the use of private trust companies and all matters concerning the licensing, registration and operation of private trust companies.  She also regularly advises clients on wills and the administration of estates. Maxine also provides training for corporate trustees on practical trusts management.

Career

Maxine joined the Maples Group in 2004.  Maxine has been described as “a key associate” for trusts and private client work in Legal 500 and has been ranked by the Chambers and Partners High Net Worth guide as an “associate to watch”.

Memberships

Maxine is the Chair of the Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners (STEP) Council in the Cayman Islands, a member of the Legislative Sub-Committee of STEP in the Cayman Islands and of the Caribbean and Latin America Regional Committee of STEP.  Maxine is also Chair of the Public Policy Committee of the Caribbean and Latin America Regional Committee of STEP.  Maxine is a past Chair of the STEP Caribbean Conference and a member of the Cayman Islands Education Council.
