Peter Hamilton is a partner in the Banking & Finance Group whose practice focuses on corporate finance, project finance, the regulation of financial institutions, derivatives, structured finance and insolvency. Peter acted for Essar Steel Algoma Inc. in its debt restructuring and subsequent insolvency, the German Administrator in connection with the winding up of Maple Bank, Canada Branch, the underwriter and lead dealer in connection with the first Basel III compliant issue of NVCC preferred shares in Canada and the first Basel III compliant NVCC subordinated debt issue in Canada and the reinsurer on the first longevity insurance and reinsurance transaction in North America.

In a headline example, Toronto-based Meaghan Obee Tower¬†advised¬†CIBC, as senior administrative agent to a syndicate of 17 senior lenders, on Dental Corporation of Canada‚Äôs upsizing of its existing credit facilities.
