Oliver Shipway is a principal associate in our Financial Services Disputes and Investigations group in London who is experienced in high-value and complex litigation and investigations in the financial sector. He primarily (although not exclusively) advises financial institutions on the management of civil disputes and the associated risks at all levels of the English court system up to the Supreme Court and is a qualified solicitor advocate. Key areas of practice include disputes relating to investment advice and the sale of financial products, bank payments and operations, loan repayment and enforcement, fraud and financial crime, market conduct, regulatory systems, controls and governance, insolvency and asset-tracing, pension-scheme consultancy and administration and the provision of audit services. He was previously a transactional lawyer in a magic circle law firm’s project finance group and is proficient in advising on how to manage and avoid disputes arising on large and complex international transactions. He has also practiced in Italy as a banking lawyer and advised on the management of cross-border litigation portfolios.
