James is a partner in the London Real Estate Group. He specialises in a variety of real estate investment and development work. He also has considerable experience of real estate financing transactions.

James’s recent investment work includes acting for a high profile institutional investor on the disposal of a landmark City of London office block for £74 million, acting as part of the team advising an inward investor on the acquisition of two Central London hotel sites for £300 million, acting on the £95 million acquisition of The Stratford Centre and advising a Catalyst Capital joint venture on the disposal of the ITN Building in London for in excess of £140 million.

James has also acted on various refinancing projects both for banks and borrowers. This includes working as a member of the team advising on the £1 billion re-financing of the high-profile Shard of Glass, one of the most important developments in London. The Shard is a mixed-use building that will be the tallest in Europe when completed.

James’s extensive development expertise has seen him act for Stockland in relation to two hotel redevelopment projects in South London and the West Country, advise the London Development Agency in relation to the Lewisham Gateway development project and act on the acquisition of a student accommodation development site in Sheffield for £30 million.
