Work Department

Bryan joined Eversheds as a trainee in 1984 and upon qualification specialised in commercial litigation handling a wide range of complex disputes. He helped to establish a thriving insurance practice, handling predominately defendant personal injury work, a range of insurance related disputes and professional negligence and fraud claims.

In the early 1990s, Bryan took over the Cardiff office's collection arm. Focusing on the financial service and insurance sectors, he built a substantial practice,  building teams specialising in, inter alia,  complex property disputes, professional negligence and substantial subrogated recovery claims.

Bryan was appointed Managing Partner of the Cardiff office in 2000 and also joined Eversheds' National Senior Management team. Three years later, he joined the firms National Executive when he was appointed Eversheds' Chief Operating Officer, becoming UK Managing Partner in 2006.

During his tenure on the National Executive the firm saw an average revenue growth of 7% per year and average profit growth of 16% per year. During this period the firm also expanded into more than 22 international jurisdictions.

Appointed Chief Executive in May 2009 in the midst of global recession, Bryan's leadership, operational expertise and desire to deliver client service excellence will be key to the continuing global success of Eversheds.

Dedicated to embedding client service excellence across the business and personally leading the firm's Key Account Programme, Bryan is committed to ensuring that Eversheds lawyers provide clients not only with first class legal advice but also commercial common sense. His objective is to reinforce the firms position as a dynamic and progressive employer, unlocking the talents of its many professionals to create a 21st Century business law firm which is second to none.
