Paola is a principal associate in our commercial team, specialising in Project and Infrastructure Finance. She has advised the private and public sectors, including central government and funders, on a range of PPP/PFI projects and currently specialises, in particular, in renewable energy projects.

Examples of Paola's recent experience includes:

• Renewable sector: Paola has advised the public and private sectors and both equity and debt funders on a number of commercial contracts in the solar, biomass and geothermal sectors.
• Energy sector: Paola has advised on a number of grid connection offers and connection agreements.
• Custodial sector: Paola has advised central government on its PPP prisons capacity programme.
• Fire sector: Paola has advised on a client's bid to provide firemen's uniforms and equipment throughout the UK. She has also advised on three PPP fire accommodation projects.
• Accommodation sector: Paola has advised on a student accommodation scheme at a UK university and has advised on a number of new building schemes. Paola has also advised a London borough on their PPP social housing project and, whilst on secondment to our Dublin office, Paola advised a local authority on its PPP housing and regeneration scheme.
• Education sector: Paola has advised  a London borough on its PPP BSF programme. In Ireland, Paola has also advised on the PPP construction of a Gaelic school.
• Transport sector: Paola has advised central government on a number of rail franchises; the transport authorities in Mexico City and Johannesburg on the procurement of an oyster-card system; and a bidder on the Dublin Metro project. Paola spent 6 months on secondment to the Strategic Rail Authority advising on a variety of contractual issues and also advised them on the first "Design Build Finance and Transfer" project in the railway industry (Evergreen 2).
• Waste sector: Paola has advised a London waste partnership on its PPP waste treatment project.
