Emma is a Principal Associate in our construction and engineering practice group.

She acts on both contentious and non-contentious matters for a wide range of private and public sector clients.  She advises clients on a broad range of procurement matters, including procurement strategies, construction framework contracts, standard building and engineering contracts, including the NEC, JCT, MF1 and IChemE forms of contract, associated framework and project specific consultant documentation, security and collateral agreements.

Emma's recent experience includes:

  • acting for a range of developer and investor clients developing their property portfolios in the City of London and elsewhere in the United Kingdom, through varying procurement methods and on schemes ranging from high value residential developments to office and retail refurbishment and construction projects;  
  • acting for investor clients on their acquisition of a range of properties in the UK;  
  • acting for a developer of high value residential accommodation in London in relation to wide ranging issues,  including practical completion under the JCT form of contract, defect remediation and final account matters;  
  • acting from the outset for a developer of mixed use developments in London, including ultimately dealing with contractor performance and insolvency issues; acting for a global contractor on claims arising in relation to alleged defects in mixed use developments.

Emma provides advice throughout the development period with a view to avoiding disputes and ensuring the smooth running and conclusion of developments.
