Ruth Fairhurst is an Associate in the Commercial team. She has experience in advising clients on a wide range of commercial transactions including outsourcing, transitional services, agency and distribution arrangements. Ruth also advises clients in relation to consumer law including the Consumer Rights Bill.

Ruth has significant experience working on large scale strategic projects for private and public sector clients, including the sale of a large portfolio of assets in the energy sector and a social housing PFI project. Ruth pro-actively drives projects forward and has been described as a “key player” in relation to clients achieving their goals during highly-pressurised projects.

Ruth has particular expertise in advising clients in relation to payment services, including advising on the application of the Payment Services Regulations, the Payment Services Directive 2 and the Payment Accounts Directive. Ruth has drafted and reviewed terms and conditions for a broad range of financial products including current and deposit accounts, credit cards and digital banking services. Ruth has a keen interest in the financial institutions sector and has undertaken two secondments to a clearing bank in the UK.
