Denis is a Consultant in Eversheds' Local Government Group. He specialises in local authority governance including constitutions, powers, member conduct, audit, joint arrangements, service transformation and statutory protection of employment. As a former Local Government Chief Officer, he has over 40 years' experience of the local authority sector and understands fully the challenges faced by colleagues in the sector. He is thoroughly familiar with the current local government agenda and has advised extensively on localism and new delivery structures and works closely with commercial and real estate lawyers on commercial and property transactions.

Denis is a regular speaker at the Eversheds LA Law programme of training for in-house local authority lawyers and at other events and seminars organised by Eversheds and partner organisations. He is a member of the Association of Council Secretaries and Solicitors and writes for a variety of legal and local government journals.
