Career

Tatiana is a BLP Tax Consultant in the San José office. She specializes in the Tax practice area.

She has extensive experience in the preparation and/or review of tax returns before the Tax Administration of Costa Rica. In addition, she has experience in due diligence processes, specifically in data collection, and review and analysis of accounting and financial type to determine possible fiscal contingencies of an evaluated company. She provides tax orientations to expatriates who enter to work in Costa Rica or leave the country to work abroad, in order to explain the operation of the Costa Rican tax system and the economic repercussions that they imply.

She assists clients’ Financial Audit departments in their tax reviews, involving the execution of different procedures such as determination of accounting gain or loss, identification of non-taxable income, non-deductible expenses, or additional deductible expenses, in order to verify if the tax expense on the profits of the fiscal period under review is duly recorded in the customer’s accounts.

In addition, she has experience in the preparation of accounting and financial reports, and requirements for proceedings before the Tax Administration such as requests for compensation or refunds of balances in favor, elimination, or reduction of partial payments, among others.

Prior to joining the BLP team as a Tax Consultant in 2018, Tatiana was the fiscal compliance supervisor at Fortis Integral Business Services and a tax consultant at PWC for three years.
