Career

José is a partner in D’Empaire since 2018. Before joining D’Empaire in 2012, José worked as an associate at Deloitte from 2008 to 2012.

He advises major corporations on a broad range of tax matters. He also counsels Venezuelan families and individuals on tax and estate planning matters. Recent representations include:

• Maurel & Prom in its purchase of a 40 percent equity participation in Petroregional del Lago from Shell
• Pirelli in the sale of its Venezuelan subsidiary
• Liberty Mutual in its sale of Seguros Caracas, Venezuela’s largest insurance company
• American Airlines in several Venezuelan tax matters
