The 'experienced, commercial' team at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP had an active year, handling two of the most high-profile real estate finance transactions of 2017: Claire Watson advised CC Land on the £622m financing of its acquisition of the 'Cheesegrater' building at 122 Leadenhall Street, and department head Naveen Vijh assisted Blackstone Real Estate Debt Strategies with providing a £323m loan to refinance existing debt, facilitate a corporate reorganisation and develop St Giles Circus, a mixed-use project in the West End. The practice has a strong client base on the lender and sponsor sides, covering clearing banks, major investment banks, insurers, US financial institutions and funds; new clients include Wells Fargo Bank, HSBC Investment Bank and Blackstone.
