Types of work undertaken: Property –

Property management: the firm is recognised as specialising in the complex area of enfranchisement and right to manage, and its award-winning property management team is nationally recognised for its expertise in service charge and ground rent debt recovery and other property-related charges. The property management team also conducts a large number of webinars for both private and commercial customers and business contacts.

Commercial property: the team works with customers both locally and nationally, advising on all aspects of commercial property. This includes acquisitions and sales, finance, development, leases, licences and other contractual arrangements.

Conveyancing: Brethertons is a well-respected provider of conveyancing property services. Those services include advising on the High Speed Rail Link (HS2) and on sale and purchase of houses and flats ranging from the smallest apartment to country residences. The team regularly receives exceptional customer feedback for its quality of service.

Corporate –

Corporate commercial: the corporate team has customers located within Oxfordshire and Warwickshire and with national reach. The team boasts considerable experience and undertakes multiple transactional matters involving the sale and purchase of businesses, joint ventures, commercial contracts, employment issues, intellectual property, information technology, and director/shareholder/partner disputes.

Employment: the firm’s specialist employment solicitors, led by Amy Edwards, advise on employee issues from recruitment to references, grievances, disciplinary action, appeals, redundancies, TUPE, discrimination, business immigration and all the issues in between.

Dispute resolution: Brethertons LLP promotes a formidable litigation team, providing support and advice to customers facing contentious issues. Specialist areas of the team are property management debt recovery, property litigation and commercial collections.

Private client –

Personal injury: the firm’s personal injury team are dedicated UK specialists in serious and spinal cord injury. The team advises claimants nationwide, managing high-value and uniquely complex cases. The practice area also has a comprehensive general personal injury litigation team which has specialists covering road traffic accidents (RTAs) and sports injury cases.

Family: the firm has a high-calibre family team, many of whom operate at national and international levels for their skills in child abduction, divorce, childcare and collaborative law. Partner Simon Craddock is a member of the Department for Constitutional Affairs Child Abduction Panel, one of only a few specialists in England and Wales recognised for his expertise in international abduction work across many jurisdictions.

Wills, trusts and probate: the firm has an extremely successful wills, trusts and probate department, led by Daniel Boyle. This specialist team advises on a spectrum of private client issues and in particular, complex probate and trust administration, bespoke will writing, succession advice for owner-managed businesses, and expert advice to the elderly and incapacitated.
