Nick manages Carter Thomas Solicitors’ immigration team on a day-to-day basis. He also leads the firm’s private client work, and has particular interest in complex Global Talent and sponsorship cases.

He has a reputation for calm and measured advice and for his expertise in providing strategic options in immigration applications for elite scientists, academics, authors, fashion designers, musicians, tech experts and sportspeople amongst others.

Most recently, Nick has been speaking to clients about the Tech Nation route and the developing circumstances around the immigration options for digital technologists.

Having worked with Nichola Carter on a number of complex sponsorship matters, Nick also provides a range of services to sponsors including on-site mock audits and interview preparation compliance reviews, advice on the sponsorship of migrants and, where needed, advice concerning UKVI enforcement action.

Leading on Carter Thomas’s private client services, including the partner route, naturalisation applications, academic visit visas and EU Settlement Status applications, Nick also has a wide range of skills and interests across this complex area of law.

Nick is a co-convenor of the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association Yorkshire and North East working group and has previously been named as a Legal 500 ‘Rising Star’.
