Career

Jasper is a solicitor in the housing and community care department.

During his training contract Jasper worked in the Mental Capacity team assisting Andrew Bowmer on a range of Court of Protection cases under s16 and s21A of the Mental Capacity Act 2005. In addition to his housing caseload Jasper is currently providing temporary cover in the Mental Capacity team.

He works on housing cases in relation to homelessness, possession and disrepair. He also works on community care cases and public law matters, including judicial review.

Some recent experience of Jasper’s includes:

• securing suitable accommodation from the council for homeless clients;
• informing vulnerable clients of their legal rights under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996; and
• filing a successful complaint against a local authority for breach of several duties.
