Career

Immersed in the real estate market for over 18 years, Nisha Jassal has the experience and expertise to deal with multi-faceted development and investment transactions with minimal fuss and maximum foresight.

A UK based commercial development and investment lawyer with a strong CV, Nisha helps investor funds, developers, major corporates and local authorities buy, sell, develop, fund, let and manage their real estate assets. Her experience includes dealing with shopping centres, offices and mixed use schemes, and advising on structuring, forward funding and joint venture arrangements.

Her approach is to stand in the client’s shoes and understand what they want to achieve, working alongside them as part of a single team. Her ability to identify the key issues, to think ahead and pre-empt matters, and to drive deals forward, is what sets Nisha apart and what clients value in her.

Used to dealing with complex issues, she will help clients find their ‘route to goal’ – finding and implementing viable solutions, whilst minimising risk and maximising value.

An accomplished and seasoned project lead, Nisha regularly advises large-scale funds on high-value real estate projects. She will act as a key point of contact for clients during transactions, co-ordinating cross-disciplinary teams, and liaising with the client’s wider project team, and other professionals involved.

Her experience spans many real estate sectors from shopping parks, town centre regeneration, business parks, industrial units, leisure, and retail and offices in particular. Nisha has advised real estate funds like Columbus UK Real Estate Fund, L.P and AUB Commercial Property Income Fund on their acquisitions, lettings and disposals, be they multi-let, single let or portfolio transactions. She acts for U and I Group Plc on a number of their development projects, such as their schemes in Hammersmith (developed in conjunction with London Underground Limited and forward sold to Scottish Widows), Southwark (a mixed use regeneration project with Transport for London), The Royals Business Park in London’s Docklands, and Cambridge Science Park.

Her advice in the retail sector spans all aspects of the real estate life cycle. She acted for Birmingham City Council on its acquisition of the Pallasades Shopping Centre (acquired as part of the City’s regeneration of New Street Station and the creation of Grand Central). She advised New Frontier Properties Limited on its purchase of the 302,000 sqft Houndshill Shopping Centre in Blackpool for £105 million. She acted for Genting on the set-up and letting of the retail outlet units at Resorts World Birmingham, as part of Genting’s £150 million, 538,000 sq ft leisure and casino complex, and has advised long standing client Castlepoint Limited Partnership (managed and operated by Standard Life Investments) on all aspects of the redevelopment, letting and management of the Castlepoint Shopping Park in Bournemouth (one of the largest shopping parks in the UK anchored by M&S and home to over 30 well known high street brands).

Nisha’s dedication and perseverance to do the best for her clients, her personable and down to earth style, means clients quickly look to her as their trusted advisor. With Nisha you can be confident of getting a lawyer whom you can rely upon to look after your business needs.
