Career

In more than a decade of litigation practice, Sharon has been involved in many high profile matters and has successfully represented clients in the State Courts and the High Court of Singapore.

The focus of Sharon’s work is on both the contentious and non-contentious aspects of insurance where she advises and acts for the major insurance companies in Singapore in various classes of insurance, such as errors and omissions, personal accident, motor, workmen’s compensation, professional indemnity, public liability and business interruption policies. She has also acted as defence counsel for various Real Estate professionals in disciplinary proceedings by the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA) before the Disciplinary Committee and Appeals Board. She is also part of the team that has been appointed to advise Singapore Medical Council (SMC) in professional disciplinary matters against doctors.

Sharon’s portfolio also includes a significant amount of general litigation work, such as breaches of directors’ and fiduciary duties, minority oppression, trademark infringement and tort of conspiracy claims. Sharon has delivered numerous seminars and she is the author for the Personal Injury Chapter in the Singapore Atkin’s Court Forms.

Sharon is an accredited Mediator with the Singapore International Mediation Institute (SIMI) and a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (SIArb).
