Career

Caroline specialises in all aspects of Corporate and Commercial law with experience on a wide range of corporate transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, management buy-outs, reorganisations, joint ventures, partnerships, private equity investments and equity capital markets listings and fundraisings. Caroline has advised a range of regional, nationwide and cross-border clients from owner-managers and founders to large corporates and private equity investors. Her experience has covered numerous commercial industries, in particular software, property, construction, energy, professional services, hotel and leisure and sport. She also has specialist expertise in advising sports clubs on general structuring and corporate governance matters and partnership on succession planning and partnership matters generally. Caroline also has extensive experience in the capital markets sector, advising on IPOs and capital markets fundraising and governance matters.

Having attended school in Bishops Stortford, Caroline studied for her law degree at the University of East Anglia before taking her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London. She then joined a multinational law firm based in London and most recently worked at a leading regional firm. Having previously been a member of TSP’s Corporate and Commercial between 2015 and 2019, Caroline re-joined TSP as a director of Caroline Nicholls Ltd, a corporate partner in TSP.

Caroline has been consistently recommended by the Legal 500 and named as a Rising Star, Next Generation Lawyer and Next Generation Partner over the past 8 years.  In the 2024 Edition, Caroline was again recommended and named as a Next Generation Partner by the Legal 500, quoted as advising “on an array of corporate matters, such as acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and capital market listings”.

Caroline is a bilingual French speaker and advises a number of French and other international clients in relation to their business interests in the UK.
