Career

Areas of practice include: corporate and commercial litigation, international arbitration, trust disputes, construction law, competition and antitrust, banking and finance litigation.

Career: Shen Yi Co-founded TSMP Law Corporation and is currently its Joint Managing Partner. He read law in St John’s College, Cambridge University and topped the English Bar Examination in 1992. He was appointed Senior Counsel in 2008, and is currently serving on the Council of the Law Society as its Vice-President, and as an Executive Committee Member of the Singapore Academy of Law Senate. Shen Yi primarily acts as Counsel in the domestic courts and in international arbitrations. He is a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and occasionally accepts appointments to act as an arbitrator in SIAC, ICC and other ad hoc and institutional arbitrations.

Education: Anglo Chinese School; Master of Arts (Law) from Cambridge University. Graduated in July 1991 with Second Class Honours (Upper Division), Admitted as a Barrister at Law (Middle Temple) in England, July 1992, Awarded First Prize in the Council of Legal Education Bar Examination 1992.

Leisure: Tennis, skiing, jiu jitsu, books, travelling, contemporary art, wine. Also a Member of the Management Committee of the Law Society of Singapore’s Pro Bono Services Office and a Director of the Community Justice Centre, both Singapore registered charities involved in promoting access to justice and legal services for the poor.
