Position

Peter is a technology lawyer with over a decade of experience in the fields of technology disputes, cybersecurity, and technology focused intellectual property. His holistic technology practice allows him to provide comprehensive advice on business-critical technology matters and disputes, and complex and at times “bet the company” cyber mandates.

On the technology disputes side, Peter has regularly acted for both suppliers and customers in respect of a diverse range of disputes, contractual resets, and renegotiations including substantial distressed IT projects and implementations, software development disputes, and software audit disputes.

In respect of cyber, Peter has considerable experience advising on the full range of cyber advisory, incident response, and litigation matters, often on a global basis.  He has acted for large multinationals, financial institutions, and household names in respect of pre-incident legal preparation and policies, incident response, regulatory advice and regulator engagement. His experience in cyber response and crisis management has focused on complex business-critical incidents including nation-state espionage, ransomware attacks and BEC fraud. He also advises clients in respect of litigation arising from incidents, both within the supply chain and with data subjects.

Having originally qualified as an intellectual property lawyer, Peter has a deep well of experience in technology related patent and other IP matters, including software and hardware patent infringement claims, source code copying and other digital asset disputes, and licensing disputes. He has represented clients in the IPEC and Patents Court and regularly assists clients with licensing and other advisory services relating to technology IP management.
