Work Department

Private Client

Position

Senior Associate

John specialises in Property matters which overlap with Private Client matters and beneficial interests such as trusts, estates and powers of Attorney as well as dealing with title issues. In October 2022 he moved from Private Client to Commercial Property to specialise in that type of cross-over work further as a support lawyer. He assists other departments with their property questions and transactions across the six offices when it touches on such matters and declarations of trust. John advises local societies, clubs and charities on changes of trustees.

Up until September 2022 he specialised in Wills, Trusts, Probate, and Lasting Powers of Attorney. John qualified as a solicitor in 2006, then became a STEP member (full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) in 2016. He became Associate in 2016 and Senior Associate in 2018. He was with Tees Brentwood office (formerly Wortley Byers) for 12 years until 2019 and then started at the Saffron Walden office of Tees from 2020 onwards.

His background includes both Commercial Property and Residential Property as well as 10 years thereafter in Private Client. This broad base of experience acting for landlords, developers, companies and individuals proves invaluable in assisting his clients where property matters touch on trusts, probate, wills, and when advising attorneys and deputies.
