Career
Angela is a Partner in Simpson Millar’s Public Law team, specialising in areas including human rights, Court of Protection and Education Law, in particular Special Educational Needs and Judicial Review claims.
Her expertise has been recognised on many occasions, such as when she won the Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year award in 2009. She was also highly commended at the Law Society Excellence Awards in 2014 and named Lawyer of the Year at the Modern Law Awards 2017/18.
Angela co-wrote Practical Education Law, a text published by the Law Society in 2005, has contributed articles for legal journals including Education Law Journal and New Law Journal, and co-writes regular updates on education law for Legal Action Group.
She has also been a lecturer and trainer for CLT, MBL Seminars Ltd, College of Law and Legal Action Group. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a CPD Consultant and Senior Lecturer at The City Law School and secretary of the Education Law Practitioners’ Group.
In addition, Angela is a member of the Human Rights Committee at the Law Society and an expert panel member of the Strategic Legal Fund for Vulnerable Young Migrants.
