Following eight years of practice as a Barrister, Willard joined Haldanes in 2014 to focus on matrimonial law. Whilst practising at the Bar, Willard had experience as an advocate handling matrimonial disputes, general civil litigation, contentious probate, and criminal matters.

Willard’s primary focus is on handling legal issues arising out of the breakdown of marriages and relationships between married and unmarried couples, such as divorce, separation, child custody and care arrangements, child relocation, financial disputes, asset division, and maintenance.

He advises on all aspects of matrimonial law, including prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and has handled cases involving jurisdictional issues, cross-jurisdictional divorces, trusts, expert valuation of assets, and the beneficial ownership of property and assets by third parties.

In addition to litigating complex and contested cases, Willard has handled consensual divorces and settled disputes through mediation and negotiations. Willard is also a Collaborative Law practitioner as a member of the Hong Kong Collaborative Practice Group.
