Career

Gerard is a Partner in Dentons’ Corporate and Commercial team. He specialises in corporate and commercial law, including mergers, acquisitions, and major contract negotiations across a wide range of industry sectors.

He is well known for his work in the project, resources, financial services, and healthcare sectors in New Zealand, as well as general corporate acquisition activity for international investors. For over 24 years he has helped both domestic and international organisations and investors undertake complex transactions and navigate inter-jurisdictional challenges.

Gerard’s clients include large and medium-sized listed and unlisted corporates, family offices, not-for-profits, iwi and departments of the Crown. His dedication to delivering excellent results for his clients and his ability to clearly understand his client’s objectives have seen Gerard build a strong client base.

Gerard is an award-winning lawyer, having previously received the NZ Lawyer Banking and Finance Award and has been a runner-up for the NZ Lawyer Corporate and Commercial Award. Gerard is well respected and recognised in the industry for his expertise and commitment to his clients.
