The firm: Freemans Solicitors was established in 1995 by Howard Freeman. Its work initially comprised mainly commercial and residential conveyancing with some litigation and immigration work. Shortly after, Howard was joined by Oluwole Osibona, and the practice expanded from its immigration work, both privately and legal aid funded. In 2000, the firm created a now thriving criminal department, expanding into family law just a few years later when Nina Hansen joined the practice. The firm has continued to grow organically and in 2015 it merged with Sasto and Klinger.

Areas covered include: freehold and leasehold properties; acquisitions and disposals; landlord/tenant; lettings, leases and licences; leasehold enfranchisement; development; property aspects of business deals; planning matters; environmental and construction matters; rent reviews; lease renewals; and service charge, dilapidations and forfeiture issues.
Civil litigation: the firm aims to assist clients in avoiding a dispute if possible and, where it is not, to represent their interests. The firm has extensive experience in all aspects of commercial litigation, property litigation, insolvency and employment matters and has conducted cases in all civil courts, the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal, Employment Tribunal and in mediations and arbitrations. It’s client base ranges from private individuals to large corporations and offshore companies. It is also able to provide advice and assistance in relation to drafting of documents, including employment contracts, shareholders’ agreements, service contracts, terms of business and asset purchase agreements.
Children and family matters: the family department has a reputation for high-quality service and breadth of expertise. It is particularly well known for its work in the field of international family law, an area in which it is considered to be a market leader. The firm is a member of the International Child Abduction and Contact Unit’s panel of specialist solicitors and has been involved in a number of high-profile cases involving cross-border disputes, including in the Supreme Court and the Court of Justice of the European Union, which has helped to shape the law. It acts for parents and children from all over the world, and have strong links with lawyers in other jurisdictions to provide a holistic approach to international family law disputes.
