Philip Alfandary is a Partner in the Tax team at Memery Crystal

Philip is a specialist in corporate tax with over 20 years’ experience, advising a diverse range of corporate, and owner-managed businesses and entrepreneurs.

Rontec and Savills have numbered among Philip’s large corporate clients, as has Northern & Shell, which he advised on the sale of its newspaper and magazine publishing business.

He also advised WH Smith on the acquisitions of greeting card retailer Funky Pigeon, and Sword, the international services and software group, on several transactions.

Philip’s experience in private equity and funds includes advising the management team of CloserStill Holdings Limited on a secondary buyout and investment by Phoenix Equity Partners, and Triodos Bank on its EIS and Microfinance funds.

Philip provides tax structuring and planning advice on corporate transactions and advises real estate funds and developers on SDLT and VAT, among other issues.

“Prized for his knowledge of corporate transactions and VAT and SDLT” in the words of Chambers UK, Philip was appointed to the Law Society’s VAT and Duties sub-committee and has also been recognised as a leader in his field by Chambers UK and other legal directories.

He joined the Memery Crystal team in 2021 following seven years at sister brand Rosenblatt.
