Behnam has been advising clients, in particular foreign companies, in their business and investment activities in Iran for some 15 years across different industries (including airport, aviation, automotive, e-commerce, fintech, food & beverage, logistics, manufacturing, mining, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, ports, power, railway, renewables, and telecommunication) and is well-known and highly regarded by international clients.

He is well-versed in corporate matters and advises on market entry, mergers & acquisitions, corporate structuring and restructuring, regulatory matters, foreign investment licensing, JV agreements, acquisition agreements and shareholder agreements.

He has been involved in a number of high-profile projects and advised sponsors, financiers and contractors on financing schemes (including project finance, asset/title finance, PPPs and private financing), regulatory matters, sovereign guarantees, foreign investment licensing and project documentation including concession agreements (BOT and BOO) and project agreements (IPCs, ECAs, PPAs, offtakes, and EPC contracts).

He has also successfully conducted many sophisticated commercial disputes before Iranian courts and has acted as local legal expert in a number of ICC arbitration proceedings.
