Position

Prior to joining St Philips Chambers, Raj taught the English legal system and criminal law at a Sixth Form College in Oxford for three years. In 2000, she joined the Crown Prosecution Service where she was a senior crown prosecutor for three years and a Higher Court Advocate for the Crown. Raj practises in all areas of crime. She is a Grade 3 prosecutor and both prosecutes and defends cases. She has prosecuted sexual offences, white collar crime and domestic violence as well as general street crime including public order offences and robberies. She has been junior counsel to the prosecution in murders, in a people trafficking case and in a fraud case. She has defended numerous street crime offences and drugs cases. Raj has appeared in the Court of Appeal several times for both the prosecution and the defence.
