Position

Suki heads up the property team in Bournemouth who regularly act for a broad range of clients, such as companies, financial institutions, high-net-worth individuals and household names, advising on their property requirements. He has a particularly strong focus on landlord and tenant matters and enfranchisement, acting for landlords and property investors with a wide portfolio of commercial property. He also heads up the Fast Track Property division providing volume property services to financial institutions on their secured lending work, to telecoms companies on their infrastructure projects and to house builders on plot sales. Recent transactions include advising Bournemouth University on a lease of a 500 bed student accommodation building, advising telecoms companies EE on their property portfolio and 3 on the roll out of their 4G services, acting for lenders such as Lloyds, NatWest, Aldermore and Norwich and Peterborough on their secured lending requirements.

The team has notable expertise advising on issues pertaining to house building, investments, portfolio management and finance, especially in the telecoms, hotels, ports and marinas, and healthcare sectors. It is acting for CHG holdings on the development of a Travelodge in Somerset, work that includes advising on the site acquisition, planning and construction as well as assisting with a forward-funding agreement. The group also acted for Lewis Investment Fund on the acquisition of a large retail investment. McCarthy & Stone, Captiva Homes, Monzo Bank, Big Yellow and Bargate Homes are also among its clients. Lester Aldridge LLP’s property department has particular expertise in property finance and investment transactions in the telecoms, healthcare, leisure, and port and marina sectors. Of particular note, Suki Samra is advising EE and Three on the property issues arising from a government-sponsored project to supply emergency network services. Samra also acts for bank-side clients in a litany of secured lending transactions. Additionally, Mark Benham advised Meggitt Properties on the property aspects of its £57.5m sale to QinetiQ Group. The team was also involved in a large medical centre disposal and acted for a landlord in a substantial corporate letting agreement. Marina Developments, McCarthy Stone, Big Yellow and Captiva Homes are among the team’s key clients. The department is led by Matthew Barrow out of the Southampton office.
