Career
Karin Bodewes joined Shearwaters on 1 July 2016. She has been practising employment law and related litigation for nearly 30 years. She represents large international companies and top executives.
Karin co-headed Baker McKenzie’s Amsterdam Employment & Pensions department and was a board member of Baker McKenzie Amsterdam. During her tenure there, Karin was widely recognized by top legal directories, including The Legal 500 (EMEA), Chambers Europe, Chambers Global and Best Lawyers. She was also named a leading practitioner in the “Guide to the World’s Leading Women in Business Law” and the “Guide to the World’s Leading Labour and Employment Lawyers”.
Karin was a member of the Employment Law Advisory Committee of the Dutch Bar Association. In addition, for over ten years, she was one of the editors of ArbeidsRecht, a leading monthly magazine on Dutch employment law, that set the pace for Dutch practitioners.
