Melisa is a graduate of Marmara University, School of Law where has graduated with an honours degree . She is  a member of the Istanbul Bar Association.

Following her graduation, she started to work with Gür Law Firm. She speaks fluent English, conversational French and intermediate Spanish.

Her practice areas are maritime and insurance law, law of obligations, commercial law, criminal disputes arising out of maritime transport and litigation. She specializes in problems arising from dry/wet shipping law such as cargo claims, shortages and damages, arrests, collision cases, casualties and pollution.
