Career
Dr. Thomas Schwarze joined the firm of VOSSIUS in 2013 and was admitted to practice as a German Patent Attorney (Patentanwalt) and European Patent Attorney in 2017. His training in IP included clerkships at the German Patent and Trademark Office and the Federal Patent Court in Munich. Furthermore, Dr. Schwarze gathered expertise in infringement proceedings, both as a representative and during a clerkship at the Lower District Court in Düsseldorf. He has been a partner in the firm since 2021.
Dr. Schwarze supports our clients and attorneys in the field of intellectual property, in particular patent prosecution, opposition, invalidation and patent infringement cases.

Education
Dr. Schwarze studied electrical engineering at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences from 2004 to 2008, specializing in optical technologies. He prepared his diploma thesis at the University of Malaysia Perlis and Infineon Technologies AG in Malaysia. From 2008 to 2010 he studied Applied Physics at the University of Applied Sciences Koblenz, specializing in optics and medical engineering. After completing his master thesis at the University of California Berkeley (Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories), he prepared a doctoral thesis at the Technical University of Munich in the field of solid state physics, in particular in magnetization dynamics.
