Position

Yeşim Fethiye Api Şamlı is among the leaders in our Banking & Finance and Projects & Infrastructure practice groups. Ms. Api Şamlı has an outstanding reputation in the banking industry for her understanding of the operational needs of financial institutions, including not only commercial banks but also international financial institutions, ECAs and capital markets institutions, which she has developed through her close involvement in some of the most significant compliance-focused work in Turkey over the last two decades. She also has extensive experience on all sides of banking and finance transactions, having represented borrowers active in all major sectors in addition to lending institutions.

Career

Ms. Api Şamlı began her career at Hergüner Bilgen Özeke in 2000 working in the corporate practice group, advising clients in areas of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and capital markets related transactions, and regulatory matters involving energy laws and general corporate law. She moved on to banking and finance group in 2005 and became a partner in 2013 in the banking and finance group. Ms. Api Şamlı has also been a Trademark and European Patent Agent since 2001.

Ms. Api Şamlı is a member of the Istanbul Bar Association, the Istanbul chapter of the International Law Institute (ILI), the Trademark and European Patent Institute, the Georgetown Alumni Association, the Istanbul University School of Law Alumni Association, and the AFS Intercultural Program of the Turkish Cultural Association.

Education

Ms. Api Şamlı received her Bachelor of Laws from Istanbul University School of Law in 2000 and her Master of Laws from Georgetown University Law Center in 2005 where she was awarded a partial scholarship.
