Position

Admitted to the Paris Bar in 2006, Julie Pailhès is a member of Gide’s Intellectual Property, Telecommunications, Media & Technology (IP-TMT) practice group in Paris.

Julie offers advice and litigation assistance in all fields of intellectual property (patents, trademarks, designs and models, copyright), as well as in related matters of unfair competition.

She has considerable experience in domestic and cross-border patent disputes, particularly in the fields of health (drugs, medical devices) and mechanics. In particular, Julie has advised a French public healthcare institution on a contractual liability dispute pertaining to the use of several pools of patents; a French pharmaceutical laboratory on multiple invalidity proceedings and patent infringements; an American company on a patent infringement dispute on medical devices; and a foreign agri-foods group on a pan-European dispute pertaining to patents in the mechanical field.

She advises some of the largest brands worldwide, particularly in the luxury, fashion and consumer goods sectors, on investments and product launches, for the negotiation and drafting of contracts pertaining to intellectual property rights, as well as for their trademark, designs and models and copyright disputes.

Julie is a member of the French Association of legal practitioners in trademarks and models (Association des Praticiens du Droit des Marques et des Modèles, or A.P.R.A.M.).

She holds a postgraduate degree in literary, artistic and industrial property from Paris II – Panthéon-Assas University, and is a graduate of EDHEC Business School. She joined Gide in 2008 after having started her career in a niche firm that specialises in designs and models.
