Overview

Edinburgh and Glasgow are separated only by a 42-mile stretch of the A8, but remain resolutely distinct. Together they form the ‘central belt’ – the heart of the country’s corporate and financial services markets – and most of the country’s leading firms have offices in each city. The Court of Session, Scotland’s supreme civil court, sits in Parliament House in Edinburgh.
