He also serves as the lead Ohio counsel for a major pharmaceutical company in the opioid multi-district litigation centered in Ohio. White is based in Cleveland.

Position

Tony is Thompson Hine’s firmwide managing partner. In this capacity, he serves as the firm’s chief executive officer. He is also the chair of the Executive Committee, the principal governing body responsible for the firm’s strategic direction, financial affairs, and oversight of its nine offices.

With a unique national litigation and labor and employment practice, Tony represents significant clients in their most complex cases wherever they arise. His broad geographic experience includes serving as lead counsel in litigations in 39 states. From complex class action lawsuits and national FLSA collective action claims to simultaneous multidistrict trade secret and non-compete litigation, Tony has vast experience with the most difficult cases.

Career

Tony has an extremely high profile in Ohio, not only as a successful trial lawyer, but also as an active member of the community. From 1985 to 1989, he played basketball for The Ohio State University and was named captain his senior year. Ohio sports fans have been listening to and watching Tony ever since – he was a color analyst for the Big Ten Network, broadcasting Ohio State games for years, and he was the basketball analyst for one of the largest radio stations in Ohio for over 25 years. Today, Tony regularly serves as the color analyst for the Dayton Flyers basketball team.

His tremendous exposure to businesses and professionals in Ohio has led Tony to receive numerous significant charitable and volunteer appointments. He was a member of The Ohio State University Hospital’s board for over seven years, bringing his legal and business insight to one of the country’s largest and most successful teaching hospitals. Asked by two former presidents of The Ohio State University, E. Gordon Gee and Karen A. Holbrook, to serve with a select few on the President’s Alumni Advisory Council, Tony worked closely with each president to address important issues at Ohio State. He also spent two years as chairman of the Ohio State University Varsity “O” Alumni Association board and 10 additional years as a board member, working to provide services to and expand the reach of one of the nation’s largest alumni organizations.
