Pieter A. Weyts advises investment funds, family offices and entrepreneurs on a wide variety of private equity and financing transactions. Pieter has more than 20 years of experience in structuring and negotiating mergers and acquisitions, private securities offerings, and fund offerings. In the last few years, he has negotiated over $1 billion in secondary transactions of late-stage technology companies. He has also advised family offices and fund clients on numerous private equity financings of multi-family, hotel and senior living real estate assets across the United States. Pieter takes a pragmatic approach to structuring complex business transactions and brings a unique international business savvy to his practice. Pieter is also a member of the board of LatinFinance, an international financial media business based in Miami. 

Career

Prior to moving to Miami, Pieter was a Wall Street corporate attorney with Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York (2001-2008), where he advised non-U.S. financial institutions listed on the NYSE and worked on various emblematic public offerings, including a $1.8 billion equity offering by ICICI Bank Ltd., India’s largest private bank, which was named Best Offering of the Year by FinanceAsia.
