Josh Robbins is a partner in Crowell & Moring's Orange County, CA office. He is a first-chair trial lawyer and former federal prosecutor who represents clients in high-stakes fraud litigation and investigations, primarily in the health care and life science industries. He has been lead counsel in dozens of trials and arbitrations, dozens of appeals, and hundreds of investigations, acting for both plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts and in domestic and international arbitrations, and involving subject matter ranging from health care fraud to antitrust to patents.

As an Assistant United States Attorney, Josh led the investigation and prosecution of the largest insurance fraud case in California history, involving over $900 million in claims for spinal treatment tainted by kickbacks, as well as the conviction of a state senator. He led trials involving health care fraud, securities fraud, tax evasion, and bribery, among other offenses, and was recognized by various federal agencies for his service.

After leaving government, and before joining Crowell & Moring, Josh founded and led the White Collar & Investigations and Life Sciences practice groups at a major national law firm. The Daily Journal named his trial victory in a RICO and antitrust case as one of California’s top verdicts of the year and has repeatedly listed him as one of the top white collar litigators in California. Josh is ranked by Chambers USA as a leading white collar lawyer, by Benchmark Litigation as a Litigation Star, and by the Los Angeles Business Journal as a “Leader of Influence: Litigators & Trial Lawyers.”

Josh has also testified as an expert witness on health care kickback law and has published and spoken widely on related issues.
