Position
JR Lanis is the firmwide co-leader of BakerHostetler’s Capital Markets and Securities and Corporate Governance practice. He advises clients on public company securities offerings and reporting, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate transactional and governance needs. He structures and negotiates public stock and debt offerings, tender offers, rights offerings, IPOs, all forms of mergers and acquisitions, licensing deals and other commercial matters.
JR serves as outside counsel to numerous public companies, investment banks and registered investment companies and is experienced in listing and reporting for OTC, Nasdaq and NYSE-listed issuers. He represents strategic and private equity and family office-backed buyers and sellers of businesses and product lines. JR’s clients include publicly traded and privately held companies and investors in a variety of industries, including professional sports, food and beverage, technology, financial services, hospitality, entertainment and life sciences.
In addition to his role as co-leader of the firm’s Capital Markets and Securities and Corporate Governance practice, JR leads the Los Angeles office’s Business practice team and chairs the firm’s West Coast Business Development Committee, which is responsible for client relationship, marketing and branding initiatives among BakerHostetler’s Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco and Seattle offices.
