James has represented clients across a broad range of industries and has extensive experience in construction, midstream, and petrochemical disputes. James has received recognition from Benchmark Litigation as a Future Star in the construction, commercial and transactions, and energy practice areas since 2021, in addition to a 40 & Under honoree from 2019 to 2024. He’s also been selected to the Texas Super Lawyers list in Business Litigation (since 2023).

An honors graduate of Harvard Law School and The University of Texas at Austin, James served as a law clerk to the Honorable Edith Brown Clement of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit before beginning his career as a trial lawyer. Prior to joining Hogan Thompson Schuelke, James was a partner at Reynolds Frizzell LLP.
