Partner James Schuelke represents businesses in complex litigation and arbitration matters. He is known to his clients for his ability to handle every aspect of a case. Both as lead counsel and in key roles on multi-member trial teams, James has successfully represented clients through every stage of litigation, from pre-suit negotiations through jury verdicts and final appeals. James has represented clients across a broad range of industries and has extensive experience in construction, midstream, and petrochemical disputes. James's combination of courtroom skill and the ability to master the facts of a complex case has allowed him to consistently achieve great results for his clients.

James has received recognition from Benchmark Litigation as a Future Star in the construction, commercial and transactions, and energy practice areas since 2021, in addition to a 40 & Under honoree from 2019 to 2024. He’s also been selected to the Texas Super Lawyers list in Business Litigation (since 2023).

An honors graduate of Harvard Law School and The University of Texas at Austin, James served as a law clerk to the Honorable Edith Brown Clement of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit before beginning his career as a trial lawyer. Prior to joining Hogan Thompson Schuelke, James was a partner at Reynolds Frizzell LLP.
