Work highlights

Advised Crusoe Energy Systems on the sale of its flare-gas powered Bitcoin mining operations to New York Digital Investment Group LLC (NYDIG), a deal which is pending regulatory approval.
Acted as lead defense counsel to Mirana Corp. in litigation which involved FTX seeking not only to claw back approximately $1bn in transfers, but also represented an attack on innovative aspects of the crypto ecosystem, such as the distributed governance model of DAOs.
Acted for Mr. Ivan Turogin in a criminal case brought by the US DoJ, involving allegations of a $575 million cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme; after his extradition from Estonia, we challenged his detention, ultimately securing his release—the first time a foreign defendant achieved this in the district against government opposition; our work led to the dismissal of 17 out of 18 counts, and a sentence of time served, despite prosecution demands for a decade-long sentence.
