Baker Botts L.L.P.‘s thriving practice for regulatory matters in the energy sector has a strong presence in oil and gas matters, acting for a number of industry-leading corporates across the space. The practice group covers the gamut of natural gas and oil regulatory and litigation matters, including natural gas rates cases, permitting of regulated facilities, regulatory changes, and negotiating an array of commercial agreements affecting regulated products and services. The team has also been active in energy transition matters. Head of the group is Michael Yuffee, whose broad energy regulatory practice has recently covered high-profile litigation, including civil and class actions. His team includes Emil Barth, counsel on regulatory, litigation, infrastructure development, and transactional matters; and the January 2025 partner appointment of Ryan Norfolk, advisor on enforcement defense, compliance and internal investigations, administrative litigation, and transactional matters.
