With excellent coverage throughout the country, including a particularly strong concentration of lawyers in Florida, California, and New York, Greenberg Traurig‘s ’highly responsive team works seamlessly together’ to provide ‘very pragmatic’ advice to clients in the defense of securities class actions, derivative lawsuits, SEC investigations and enforcement actions, irrespective of geographical location. The team also has niche expertise handling broker-dealer-related securities litigation matters, an area that New York-based partner William Briendel is particularly skilled. Bob Horowitz is Co-Chair of the firm's D&O Securities Litigation Practice. His securities practice involves the defense of underwriters, issuers, directors, and officers in securities class actions, shareholder derivative action, SEC investigations, and enforcement actions. Among his representations are a defense judgment after trial in an SEC action alleging insider trading against a money manager, summary judgment on the eve of trial dismissing a securities class action against a medical insurance company, dismissal of putative class action against the majority shareholder of a Russian oil company, and an award of sanctions under the PSLRA (reimbursement of all defense costs) in conjunction with a dismissal of a putative class action against an issuer and its officers and directors.

Represented Frost Bank and Cullen/Frost Bankers, Inc. (Frost) in litigation before the AAA based on claims asserted by successor trustees of a family trust suing Frost for breach of fiduciary duties, fraud, and breach of the trust agreement.
Successfully defended BioLineRx in a securities fraud class action involving claims that it misled investors with statements in 2022 regarding the sufficiency of its cash on hand to fund its operations through the first half of 2024.
