Based in the Chicago office of Goldman Ismail Tomaselli Brennan & Baum LLP, Tarek Ismail is an experienced litigator with clients in the pharma and medical science space. His work includes the continued representation of Merck & Co Inc. in defense against an antitrust MDL relating to the settlement of a patent case in 2010, which plaintiffs alleged violated federal and state antitrust laws, and which was settled during trial – following his success, he has been retained by Merck for related opt-out Zetia litigation. He is also advising Gilead Sciences in a mass tort consolidated in California regarding side-effects of antiretroviral medication.
