Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP’s New York litigation team is a core pillar of the firm’s global disputes practice, which routinely handles large-scale trial and appellate matters. The group is led by James Rouhandeh, who is immersed in commercial disputes, class actions, and tax litigation; Dana Seshens, who defends government entities and senior officials in commercial litigation and public sector disputes; and Paul Spagnoletti, whose practice is steeped in commercial arbitration and post-transaction disputes arising from restructurings, insolvencies, and financial misconduct. Also integral to the team are Lara Buchwald, who brings a sophisticated understanding of commercial litigation and appellate proceedings, and Antonio Perez-Marques, who is fluent in technology-related disputes and white-collar adjacent matters. Seasoned trial lawyer Frances Bivens advises on mass torts, catastrophic accident litigation, and regulatory and enforcement proceedings, particularly within the energy and utilities sectors.

NSO Group was found liable for violating computer access and anti-hacking legislation and for breaching WhatsApp’s terms of service. After a six-day jury trial, NSO Group was ordered to pay $167m in punitive damages and $444,719 in compensatory damages.
